David Rodriguez Batres is the second generation coffee producer on this farm in Jalapa, South West Guatemala. The first owner was Israel Escalante who started with about 20 manzanas (0.7 hectares) ans slowly grew his farm to the 45.5 hectares it is today!
At the beginning, very few people believed that he could make something successful out of his farm, due to high altitude. Making use of the natural spring water and loamy clay soils, now David has shown that he can produce excellent quality coffees and has now been able to increase the volume of total production to meet demand.
