Established in 2014, the Halo Beriti Washing Station is a tiny 0.55ha site in heart of the Yirgacheffe region. The small station, managed and owned by Abeyot Ageze, serves 750 smallholder producers who live and farm in the surrounding area. These
producers farm 1/2ha grower plots, using polyculture to also produce avocado, sugar cane and soya beans. This natural lot from the Halo Beriti washing station is a special preparation. Upon arrival, naturally processed lots go straight to the drying beds, where they dry between 14 and 21 days, weather dependent. Meticulous sorting is done throughout the drying process, at every stage possible, ensuring only perfect cherry and beans make it through the process.
